Ten years ago, I wrote a monster. Not in the literal sense, though Escalation Force certainly had its share of creatures, timelines and quantum headaches. A massive, tangled sci-fi epic built out of ideas that refused to sit still. It lived in drafts, notebooks, half-finished chapters and the back of my head for a decade. But frankly, it was a mess.
I returned to my corporate life. I was very successful, and I almost forgot about the story.
Then life happened.
A major health event knocked me sideways, slowed me down and forced me to rethink what matters. I couldn’t do much, but I started to write again, not for long, and not the way I used to. I came back to that old story with new eyes, a lighter touch, and a simple question:
What if I stripped it back to something faster, sharper, and more human?
That’s where Shifting Matter was born. A leaner, punchier sci-fi thriller—still full of quantum chaos, alternate realities and moral knots, but paced like a runaway train. I wrote it slowly, one piece at a time, often with one hand, and often exhausted, but always moving forward. A testament to stubbornness and the belief that creativity doesn’t end when life punches you in the ribs.
Now, the story is finally ready.
